A Passing Meteoroid

I was just a passing meteoroid
Until when the earth
grabbed me onto her

Lived a life wandering the universe.
Rounding, revolving and occasionally
striking my fellow mates.

As I entered her atmosphere
I knew the time has come for me
Where I would be turned into ashes
within minutes.

But something piqued my interest,
When I saw people closing
their eyes with their hands folded
While looking at me.

Their eyes looked thrilled
and I could feel the excitement
they had watching me
Shine and sparkle

Was they trying to make a wish?
Yes they were, I have heard
about this strange custom earthians
had from my deceased cousin

A soiled solid entity like me
Had no power to make
their wishes come true, but still
It made me happy.

I was just a passing meteoroid
Until when the earth
grabbed me onto her
And I knew my life
Was worth living.
